For the very first time, Gemmyo unveils the full extent of its savoir-faire in High Jewelry with a singular piece, as subtle as it is spectacular. The Entaille High Jewelry pendant marks a turning point in the Maison’s story. An exclusive encounter with a creation that redefines the codes.
You are the very first High Jewelry pendant by Gemmyo. How does it feel to be a pioneer?
It’s an honor! I was designed to be a first in every sense. It’s rare, you know, for a Maison to enter the world of High Jewelry with such boldness. My journey began with over 80 hours of meticulous craftsmanship. I’m not just here to shine, I’m here to make the Maison shine, by pushing the limits of what a jewel can be.
There seems to be a strong emphasis on light, on brilliance. Is that central to your design?
Absolutely. I was made to capture light from every angle. With my 440 diamonds, I catch each ray, each shimmer. I’m like a mirror, but one that doesn’t reflect light so much as magnify it. The choice of indigolite tourmaline was key. This rare stone, with its deep, vivid green-blue hue, draws in light and amplifies it. It’s like a dance between the gem and the light, together, they reveal who I am.
Let’s talk about this tourmaline. What makes this gem so captivating to you?
Indigolite isn’t just a gemstone, it has soul. With its blend of blue and green, it evokes the depths of tropical waters, like a crystalline lagoon. It’s rare, unexpected, and that’s precisely why it was the perfect choice for Gemmyo’s debut High Jewelry piece. It’s the heart of my design, allowing me to radiate a glow that comes from within.
Your chain also seems to hold a secret. What can you tell us about it?
Ah, the chain! At first, it tried to compete with my tourmaline, but I like to think of us as equals, one couldn’t shine without the other. I was crafted with a fully articulated gold chain, made up of Rayon-patterned links. These links aren’t just beautiful, they’re designed for perfect comfort. Thanks to a 360° pivot system, I move gracefully and adapt to every neckline. And to complete the experience, each link is set with 37 diamonds. Every detail is crafted so that the person who wears me feels both at ease and radiant.
The “snow setting” seems to be central to your design. Can you tell us more about it?
The snow setting is my signature. It’s a technique where diamonds of different sizes are set closely together, creating an intense sparkle where metal almost disappears. I’m like an ode to light, a meeting point between the delicacy of diamonds and the strength of gold. This setting allows my brilliance to rival the sun dancing on fresh snow, hence the name. It’s a tribute to nature’s own way of capturing and reflecting light.
This is a first for Gemmyo. How does that shape your identity in the world of High Jewelry?
I’m a witness to Gemmyo’s evolution. The Maison has always sought to democratize jewelry, to make it more accessible without compromising on nobility or artistry. But with me, it crosses a new threshold. I prove that Gemmyo can blend innovation with tradition, bringing its own modern vision to a world that’s often bound by convention. It’s not a revolution, but a reinterpretation, elegant and bold.
And what about your future? What do you hope to inspire in those who wear you?
Above all, I hope to be a symbol of timeless elegance. A piece that transcends trends, that stands the test of time. But I also want to embody a fresh take on High Jewelry, one that, though exceptional, doesn’t feel out of reach. With me, Gemmyo shows that you can be both daring and refined. I wasn’t made to sit behind glass, but to be worn, lived with, a jewel that adapts to its time while staying true to the art of beauty.
Thank you for this exclusive conversation. You’re undoubtedly a piece that will leave a mark on Gemmyo’s history.
Thank you. If my light can bring a bit of wonder to those who see me, then I’ve fulfilled my purpose.
